A 47-year-old Kent man is in the Snohomish County jail after travelling 120 miles per hour on southbound I-5 in an attempt to elude Washington State Patrol Troopers. Trooper Keith Leary tells My Everett News that a motorcycle trooper was working radar on southbound I-5 on the flats between Marysville and Everett when he tried to pull over a Grey Jeep. The Jeep fled weaving in and out of multiple lanes of traffic and hitting 120 miles an hour on Southbound I-5. Leary says the trooper decided to end the pursuit as the Jeep approached 41st street. The Jeep apparently exited off 41st street at a high rate of speed, clipped a ford ranger driven by a 72-year-old and then slammed into a red pickup truck sending both vehicles into the fence across the 41st street overpass. The driver of the pickup was taken to an Everett Hospital with minor injuries while the Jeep driver was arrested for felony eluding and being wanted for more than $50,000.00 worth of narcotics warrants. Everett Police are investigating the crash scene and are expected to be there for some time but traffic is getting through.
