Only 24 hours left to get your ballot in the mail

You only have 24 hours to make sure your ballot is postmarked or delivered to the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office. As of this morning only 23.7% of Ballots in the Everett races had been returned while county-wide that number was 24.6%. Here’s a link to the latest ballot returns. I just spoke with Snohomish County Auditor Carolyn Weikel who tells me she believes the turnout will hit at 52%. Weikel did caution that people should not expect any kind of final result on close races when the first ballot totals are announced tomorrow night at 8:00pm. “On Tuesday night, we’ll release the results of the ballots received thru Monday night and a few from Tuesday,” said Weikel. “On Wednesday we’ll count more and will count ballots on Thursday and we will work Veteran’s Day.” Weikel says the winners of close races may not be clear until Monday the 14th due to the time it takes to get ballots in and verified in this all mail election.
