Firefighters kept the blaze from spreading to other nearby vehicles in front of the recruiting center

Everett Police and Fire Investigators are looking into what may have caused a fire that destroyed two vehicles parked in front of the Armed Forces Career Center at 1203 SE Everett Mall Way last night. Crews were called to a report of a fully involved vehicle fire shortly before 11:00pm. By the time the first fire engines arrived the fire had spread to a second vehicle. Everett Fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a third vehicle. Because there were military vehicles involved Everett Police treated the scene as suspicious and called out a K-9 to track for possible suspects but none were located. An Everett Fire inspector was still on the scene after midnight trying to determine the cause of the fire. No word yet on that but the two vehicles, a car and van, appeared to be totalled. The recruiting center serves the Army, Air Force and Marines.
