Everett Raptors In, Seattle Timberwolves Out

The Everett Raptors will play 7 home games in Everett, WA beginning the last week of February 2012

The Everett Raptors of the Indoor Football League today were announced as the newest professional team to call Comcast Arena Everett home. They were welcomed to Everett, WA this morning by Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson who said, “This is a step forward in the Everett Comcast center and the efforts to create more opportunities for people to enjoy sports in Everett.” As we reported yesterday, the addition of the Raptors in Everett will come at a cost to Indoor Football League fans in Kent. Raptors General Manager Mike Barry says the Seattle Timberwolves will not play at ShoWare center in Kent in 2012 and may or may not come back in 2013. Northwest Pro Sports LLC bought the Kent Predators last April and turned them into the Seattle Timberwolves. Other teams in the IFL also shuttering for the 2012 season include the Wenatchee Venom and the Fairbanks Grizzlies. That will leave Everett in a division with Tri-Cities, Colorado and Wyoming when the season begins the last week of February. The Raptors are opening an office in downtown Everett and taking season tickets requests for their seven home games at their new website, EverettRaptors.com. Barry says there’s no word yet on ticket prices but single game tickets will likely go on sale in late November. Their 2012 schedule should be released within a couple of weeks. The Everett Raptors will play the majority of their seven home games in 2012 on Thursday nights as they follow the Everett Silvertips, Washington Stealth and major concert tours in the scheduling priority at Comcast Arena Everett.
