The Daily Herald, Everett’s newspaper of record, has endorsed incumbent Aaron Reardon for Snohomish County Executive. Their endorsement in today’s paper is titled “Reardon, with reservations”. On Friday, The Seattle Times also endorsed Reardon. Reardon is being challenged by Republican Mike Hope.

My Everett News does not make endorsements but has invited all candidates on the ballot that directly impact Everett to submit a 300 word answer to the following question…”Why should people in Everett vote for me?” We sent the invitation to the email address on file with the Snohomish County Auditor’s office. Beginning on Wednesday, we’ll post the answers to the question in the order we receive them. The offices we chose were all four Everett City Council positions, the Everett Port Position, Everett School District Director, Snohomish County Executive, Snohomish County Council, Superior Court Judge, Snohomish County Treasurer, Sheriff, Auditor, Clerk and Treasurer.

The State voters’ pamphlet has been sent early and most voters have them to begin getting information on the state ballot measures. The local voters’ pamphlet will be sent one per household on Wednesday October 19th. Ballots for the upcoming election will be delivered beginning Friday, October 21st and you can vote as soon as it arrives. The actual election day is Tuesday November 8th. That’s the day ballots must be postmarked in order to be counted.
