Everett Fire Department Installing Free Smoke Alarms
Get a free smoke detector from Everett Fire while they last
To celebrate Fire Prevention Month, the Everett Fire Department is giving away and installing free smoke detectors to people living in the Everett city limits. Everett Fire Inspector Eric Hicks said, “This gives us the opportunity to reach out to the community and empower our residents to help prevent home fires and protect their families.” Hicks tells My Everett News the department hopes to provide 75 smoke alarms between now and the end of the month. It’s part of the Fire Safe Families Project in Everett. The program is paid for by the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with the Washington State Department of Health, Injury and Prevention Program. Everett residents living in homes that either have no smoke alarms or ones that are more than 10 years old are the best candidates for the program. To see if you qualify, contact Eric Hicks by calling the Everett Fire Department at 425-257-8123 or
Send Eric Hicks an email.
