Nearly 2000 Stride Againt Breast Cancer at Everett, WA Event – Update $130,872.37 Raised

Nearly 2000 participants raised more than $121,000.00
UPDATED TOTAL $130,872.37 as of 2pm Oct. 3rd. Nearly 2000 people participated in the
American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event in Everett this morning. The day started with a rally at the Snohomish County courthouse. Then at 9:30 the walkers left the courthouse and went down and around Providence Regional Medical Center returning back to the courthouse. Becca Gheen, the district executive director for the American Cancer Society tells My Everett News, “I’m so pleased, we’ve had overwhelming community support with more participation than last year.” Gheen says money raised will go to research as well as supporting treatment for people here in the greater Everett area. She says last year they gave 1700 rides to patients undergoing cancer treatments at Providence in Everett and Swedish in Edmonds.
