Everett Area AM/PM Gas Stations to Begin Accepting Credit Cards

This AM/PM at 112th and Evergreen is now accepting credit cards for gas

For years AM/PM convenience stores prided themselves on having lower gas prices than their competitors by never accepting credit cards. Recently AM/PM stations in the Everett area began changing their signage to show two different price points. One for cash and another for credit cards. There is a price difference of 10 cents per gallon between the two. Bill Kidd, director of external affairs for BP America, tells me they’ve begun a trial in the Everett area, “The goal is to see increased sales from those customers who wish to use credit cards. We’re looking to serve more customers.” Kidd says there’s no .45 cent convenience fee charged to those who use the credit card option but that fee remains for those who use debit cards. There is no set length of time for this trial period and Kidd tells me he expects it to become permanent if sales and customer counts increase. The trial is being phased in over the next few weeks in the Everett area with the station at 112th and Evergreen Way among the first to accept credit cards.
