The Carl Gipson Senior Center in Everett will be getting a solar installation thanks to an award by the Snohomish PUD and Bonneville Environmental Foundation. The Everett City Council is expected to approve the Snohomish County PUD Planet Power Award at its Wednesday night meeting. The Award means that the PUD will install solar panels at the Carl Gipson Senior Center that are expected to produce 3.65 kilowatts per hour of electricity. There will also be an educational kiosk that will show how much electricity is produced and how solar systems work. There is no cost to the city for the installation. A similar project is on the roof of Trinity Lutheran College at Wetmore and California in downtown Everett.
