Everett’s Newest Firefighters Come With Experience

L to R, Bronson Pearson, Amy Boos, Nicholas Askew and Michael Aquino prepare to meet the Everett City Council

At today’s Everett City Council meeting, Everett Fire Chief Murray Gordon introduced the city’s newest firefighters. Gordon tells me the four were all hired to replace firefighters who recently retired. Since all had previous firefighting experience, the city was able to get them hired and onto their crews in just six weeks instead of the six months it normally takes to bring in a brand new recruit. Gordon says the city is still short one firefighter but budget considerations will leave that spot open at least through the end of the year. The four received their badges from Everett Mayor Ray Stephenson during a short ceremony at the start of today’s meeting.
