Plan Launched to Re-Name Old Everett, WA City Hall

A meeting is set for September 27th to rename old city hall.

The Everett Historical Commission has launched an effort to re-name the old Everett City Hall, “The William E. Moore Historic City Hall”. Moore was Mayor of the city of Everett from 1977 – 1990. The old city hall is located at 3002 Wetmore avenue in downtown Everett and currently houses the Everett Police Department’s north precinct and the Everett City Council chambers. The building was constructed in the 1920s and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. (Historic Everett has a great listing of most places in the city on various historic registers). The current city hall is just north, across the street, in the Wall Street building. The Everett Planning Commission is holding a meeting about the re-naming on September 27th at 6:30pm.
