1205 SE Everett Mall Way Fire Update 11:15AM

11:15AM Update…Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson says the cause was accidental. The fire started in a storage room at LV Nails and the damage estimate is set at $250,000.00.

I had a chance to speak with Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson about the fire this morning at 1205 SE Everett Mall Way. He tells me that there was no sprinkler system in the building but that as firefighters were cutting thru the roof to vent the fire a pipe was cut and that helped extinguish the fire. The blaze was reported at 6:02am. Arriving units found smoke billowing from the roof and a second alarm was called. Crews were able to open up the building and gain access to the fire which they were able to quickly get under control. (with some help from the cut water pipe) The cause and damage estimate is not yet available. There were no injuries. The building houses Yuen Lui Photography, LV Nails, Any Lab Test and Kyoto Japanese Restaurant. Fire Marshal Robinson says because the building was built before 1993, it was not required to have sprinklers.
