July 1, 2011

Everett, Police Blotter

So far, $350,000 in loss and damage to these three vacant commercial buildings in south Everett.

Everett Police Sgt. Robert Goetz sent out a press release this morning about thieves targeting vacant commercial buildings in South Everett…

EVERETT, WA:            Three burglaries in recent weeks have caused several hundred thousand dollars in damage and stolen property to vacated area businesses.  The businesses in south Everett include Top Foods and Circuit City on Everett Mall Way, and the old Bally Total Fitness location on Evergreen Way. The estimated damage/loss totals about $350,000.

These thieves have cleaned out the buildings wiring and electrical systems, right down to the electrical fuses and boxes.  They have even taken the metal tubing that encases the wiring.  It appears that these thieves know what they’re doing. They are able to cut power to the interior of the building to avoid electrical injury.

If anyone has information regarding these incidents they are encouraged to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257 – 8450.
