Everett Loses a Champion – Earl Dutton Passes Away at 82

June 27, 2011

Everett

His signature is one of three on my High School diploma from the late 70s. That same signature is on tens of thousands of diplomas from Everett school kids. Sad to report the passing of Earl Dutton over the weekend. As a long time President and Vice President of the Everett School Board in the 70s and 80s, Dutton gave tirelessly for Everett kids. The amount of time Dutton donated for kids and causes in Everett probably can’t be computed. In addition to Everett Schools, Dutton was also a champion of the Everett Event Center, (now Comcast Arena Everett), serving as President of the Everett Public Facilities District since its formation nearly a decade ago. Dutton had been ill recently and passed away this weekend at a local hospital. Arrangements for services are pending.
