All Everett City Council Incumbents Have Challengers, County Positions Mixed

June 10, 2011

Everett, Everett Government

Filing for Elected Office in Snohomish County Closed at 4:00pm this afternoon. There were some expected announcements such as the face off between Aaron Reardon and Mike Hope for Snohomish County Executive. A bit of a surprise that Incumbent County Assessor Cindy Portmann has two challengers while the Sheriff, Auditor, Treasurer and Clerk have no challengers. Both positions on the ballot for Snohomish County Council will have contenders with Brian Sullivan, who covers the Everett-Mukilteo area, facing two challengers, Jason Mills and Glen Sayes, while Stephanie Wright, who covers west Lynnwood and Edmonds, is being challenged by Kathy Vaughn.
There are now six people trying for the only open seat on the Everett School Board while Mark Wolken will face a challenge from Tom Stiger for his seat on the Everett Port Commission.
Here’s the complete list of candidates who have filed for office in Snohomish County.
