Everett Police Save Man From Himself, Quick Work by Officers Keeps Everyone Safe
I’ve received a few inquiries about the activity at the South Everett Fred Meyer Store on Casino Road this afternoon. Basically it appears a distraught man was outside the Fred Meyer Store claiming to have a weapon and threatening suicide. Police arrived and due to the threats the man was making, had to lock down a nearby daycare, the Fred Meyer store and Cascade, Emerson and Evergreen Schools. The man was shouting at officers to shoot him but they were able to quickly take him into custody and transport him to a hospital for a mental evaluation. Lots of Everett Police responded quickly, did a great job and handled the situation in about 15 minutes. The schools did put out a call to parents about the lockdown but it was just a precaution and there were no threats to students. Again congrats to Everett Police for a job well done.
