A heart-felt visit, from a mother of four pre-teens, leads First Step Medical Training Institute to award its first-ever scholarship. When Janene Deane and her staff met 28-year-old Ashley Todd during a visit to their Everett campus, they could tell she was someone special. This mother of four pre-teens, ages 5, 7, 8 and 9 recently moved to Everett from South Carolina to make a better life for her family. Todd was checking into the Nursing Assistant Training Program at NAC Essential Prep but did not have the funds necessary to begin her journey to becoming a registered nurse. After speaking with Todd, Deane and her staff awarded her a full scholarship for the NAC Essential Prep Course. They also decided to award a scholarship each Quarter, so people like Ashley Todd would be able to further their education and take that first step to a medical career.

People interested in applying for a scholarship can apply on the web or may deliver an application in person to the Everett campus located at 2937 Broadway Avenue in Everett, WA.
