It is Memorial Day and there’s a lot going on in Everett. First, a reminder that the American Flag should be brought to half mast until 12:00 noon when it returns to full peak for the remainder of the day. Here are some events in Everett today. Cypress Lawn cemetery, near the Everett Mall will have a Memorial Day Ceremony at 9:30am. One of the larger events will happen at 11:00 o’clock this morning at Evergreen cemetery, 4500 Block of Broadway next to I-5 in Everett. Commanding Officer of Naval Station Everett, Michael J. Students from Cascade High will honor alumni killed during the Vietnam war. That happens at 2:00pm this afternoon at the High School.
Other happenings today in Everett include the display of vintage aircraft and military tanks at the Flying Heritage Collection on Paine Field. The big Cruzin to Colby Show ‘N Shine happening from 8:00am – 4:00pm along Colby in downtown Everett and it wouldn’t be a holiday reminder unless I told you there is no mail delivery, banks and government offices are closed and the liquor stores are open.
