Will Everett’s Congressional Representation Switch from Rick Larsen to Jay Inslee?

The Commission holds a public hearing tonight at 6pm at Everett Community College. It's also live on TVW

Following the results of the 2010 Census, Washington State will be getting a new Congressional District. That means the borders of the current districts will be changing and there’s a possibility that Everett, which is currently in district 2, represented in Congress by Rick Larsen, could be moved inside district 1, represented by Jay Inslee. That could make the next battle between Rick Larson and John Koster very interesting when you take Everett out of the mix between the two. If you’d like to learn more, the Washington State Redistricting Commission will be in Everett tonight to hold a public hearing. It starts at 6:00pm at Everett Community College. Currently District 2 has 87,000 more people in it then its target population. Disclosure: I was the manager of the Everett Local Census Office for the 2010 Census. It was the third busiest office out 494 in the United States and we counted everyone from the King-Snohomish County line north to Canada.
