Steep hills, brambles, blackberry bushes, underbrush, backyard fences and a desire to escape, were not enough as an Everett Police K-9 and handler tracked a suspected burglar this afternoon. It all started around noon with a citizen reporting someone prowling his neighbor’s house. Police arrived and spotted a suspect running from the Seahurst neighborhood into a heavily wooded area. The bad guy’s accomplices (waiting in a car) were detained by officers and a K-9 was called. It took a little more than an hour thru some incredibly heavy brush, steep hills and other rugged terrain before K-9 was able to take a bite out of crime. The suspect was expected to be taken to the hospital to be checked out before being booked into the county jail on suspicion of burglary. A good story that started with one neighbor looking out for another and ended with excellent police work.
