May 9, 2011

Everett, Police Blotter

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has released an update this afternoon regarding the arrest of a man for shooting at Everett Police Officers late last night. Here’s what they had to say…

The suspect in Sunday night’s officer-involved shooting (a 25-year-old Arlington man) is in the process of being booked into the Snohomish County Jail on the following anticipated counts:

Ø Assault 1 Firearm

Ø Attempting to Elude

Ø Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1

Ø DUI

Additional details:

Ø Detectives have learned that at the traffic stop at 33rd St. and Rockefeller Ave. the Everett police officer reported that the suspect was holding what looked like an “uzi” type firearm and pointed it at the officer. Later in the investigation, detectives recovered an uzi type firearm in the suspect’s 1984 Cadillac. They also found what appeared to be narcotics in the car.

Ø When officers found the suspect hiding in the apartment, he allegedly told them this incident was his third strike. Detectives discovered the suspect was once convicted of a drive-by-shooting.

Ø The relationship between the apartment residents and the suspect is still unclear, but the suspect reportedly gave the residents $300 after they let him inside.

Great job by the Everett Police Officers to stay safe from a third strike felon with an Uzi.
