Learn how to run for office in Everett and Snohomish County

Snohomish County Auditor will hold a workshop for people interested in running for office this Thursday night.


This Thursday night from 6 – 8 PM the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office will hold their annual candidates workshop for people thinking about running for office. I’ve spoken at a number of these, and if you’re thinking of throwing your hat into the ring, this is a must-attend event. You’ll learn about the filing fees. what to put into the voters pamphlet, Public Disclosure Commission rules and reporting campaign contributions and much more. There are several positions open in Everett. On the Everett City Council…Position 4 held by Ron Gipson, Position 5 held by Drew Nielsen, Position 6 held by Brenda Stonecipher and Position 7 held by Shannon Affholter. The Snohomish County Council Position that covers Everett and currently held by Brian Sullivan is up for grabs. At the Port of Everett, commissioner position 2 held by Mark Wolken will be on the ballot. At the Everett School District, the at large position held by Kristie Dutton is up this year

County-wide positions that will affect people living in Everett include Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon, County Assessor Cindy Portmann, County Auditor Carolyn Weikel, County Clerk Sonya Kraski, County Sheriff John Lovick and County Treasurer Kirke Sievers.
