Everett Chamber Will Cease to Exist This Summer, Core Functions Will Continue thru Economic Alliance Snohomish County
formerly Project Concentrus) He said that the Everett Chamber offices would remain in downtown Everett at least thru their current leases and that while the Alliance believes that large businesses create the engine and customers that drive small business, small business owners in Everett will not suffer from this merger but will have more opportunity if Economic Alliance Snohomish County is a success. (By the way, it took them two months just to come up with that name). Currently the Boards of Directors still have to vote to dissolve their current non-profit status and get State Approval for this new non-profit. That is expected to happen by August.
I had a chance to talk with Troy McClelland last night at the Silver Lake Action Committee meeting in South Everett. He was the guest speaker and gave a very positive presentation on the merging of the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce, South Snohomish Chamber and Economic Development Council of Snohomish County into Economic Alliance Snohomish County.
