Everett Asking For Your Help on Dealing with Disaster

April 7, 2011

Everett Government

I’ve written a few things in past posts about the City of Everett’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. Now, with the help of a Federal grant and students from the University of Washington, the city is updating that plan and they’d like you to take a quick survey. Here’s what the city is asking you to do…

EVERETT – The City of Everett is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan and wants your help. Take a 20-question survey about Everett area hazards, mitigation and emergency preparedness. The survey, which will take about 10 minutes, provides additional data for the city’s plan update.

A Steering Committee oversees the process and includes City staff and planning partners such as Boeing, Mukilteo School District, SnoPac, Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management, Tulalip Tribes, Providence Regional Medical Center-Everett, and the Washington State Department of Transportation to name a few.

The City received a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant to complete the update.

Additionally, community volunteers are invited to participate in the update process. If you are an interested citizen, please contact Dara Salmon at 425-257-7957 to be added to the email list for meeting notices.
