Since 1985, Jim Brown has been working with Volunteers of America in Everett. In 1995 he began the VOA Vehicle Donation Program that he says, “Turns your car into food and shelter”. In addition to working with VOA, Jim is an ordained minister and holds a protestant service at Washington Oakes every Sunday afternoon. He’s also a cabinet-maker. The VOA car program is truly a win-win for Everett. The person who donates a vehicle gets a tax deduction, the person who buys a vehicle gets a great deal and the VOA takes care of those who need it most.
