1st Salvo of ER Wars in Everett fired by Providence Regional Medical Center

Part of the ad in Tuesday's Herald Newspaper by Providence Regional Medical Center

The gloves are coming off in the battle for emergency room patients in Everett. Apparently in response to Swedish Hospital opening a stand alone Emergency Room at the site of the old Puget Park Drive In, Providence Regional Medical Center has launched a radio and newspaper campaign putting down the idea of going to an emergency room that isn’t attached to a hospital. In the radio and print ads Providence seems to be trying to raise doubt in the minds of people around Everett in the wisdom of going to an ER without a hospital. The radio ad even seems to encourage people to drive right past one ER to get to the other. Would you really do that? The Swedish Emergency Room opens February 17th with a public preview on February 12th while the new ER at Providence Regional Medical Center doesn’t open until June. Should be an interesting battle.
