Mukilteo Ferry Won’t Be Moving To Everett

The only time Ferries will be in Everett is for repairs at the Everett Shipyard

While a few had hoped the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal might move next to the big Aluma-Dome on the Everett waterfront, the State of Washington officially said NO last week. Built in 1952 the current Mukilteo Ferry Dock has outlived its useful life and the timbers used to support the dock need to be replaced with more durable material. The Mukilteo Multimodal Terminal Project has been studying what to do about the Ferry Dock and part of that study included the option for moving the terminal out of Mukilteo to Everett. Now that option is off the table so no strolling down Hewitt Avenue to take the scenic ride to Whidbey Island.
