Can the Everett Merchants top the Aquasox again this year?
What’s the Everett Cup? It’s the annual pre-season tune up for the Everett Aquasox and a chance for the Everett Merchants to play before a bigger audience and raise some funds. Established in 2004, the majority of the games have been won by the Aquasox but in both 2007 and 2010 the Merchants surprised the frogs winning to 10 – 5. The game starts at 7:05pm at Everett Memorial Stadium and tickets are available at the gate.

Everett Aquasox players began arriving in town last night and today will take to the field for the first time together as a team. They’ll face off against the Everett Merchants tomorrow night at Everett Memorial Stadium in the annual Everett Cup. Last year the Merchants topped the Aquasox 10 – 5. A humbling start to the single A baseball season for the Frogs who went on to win the Northwest League Championship. After their friendly game with the Merchants tomorrow night, the Aquasox will open their 76 game season on the road against the Tri-City Dust Devils Friday night. The home opener for the Aquasox is set for June 22nd against the Vancouver Canadians.
