This evening Everett Police issued a plea for the public to help identify a man believed to have assaulted a postal worker at the scene of a fatal crash last month.

Help sought to identify suspect from fatality collision

EVERETT – At about 5:45 pm on Jan. 22, 2019, officers responded to a fatality collision at Pacific Ave and Colby Ave. A postal truck had struck and killed a pedestrian in the roadway. Following the collision, an unidentified male stripped off the Lakers jersey he was wearing, assaulted the postal worker, and stole his keys. The male left the jersey behind.

A check of the surveillance video at the nearby 7-Eleven (1611 Pacific Ave) showed the possible suspect in the store just prior to the incident. Everett Police and United States Postal Service Inspectors are attempting to identify the male in the video.

Anyone with information about this incident or knows the suspect is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
