The saying is if you see something, say something.

That’s what someone did when they found a suspicious item behind a business in the 2500 block of Broadway around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Everett Police responded, blocked off the area and called in a technician to examine the item.

With great care police removed it from behind the building, put it in a containment bag and are taking it to a lab for further testing.

No word yet on whether or not it was an explosive device or if it was dangerous but Everett Police say people did the right thing by calling 9-1-1, backing away and letting police remove the item.

Here are a couple of MyEverettNews.com photos of the activity behind the business.
