illegal in Everett

All fireworks are illegal in the city limits of Everett. Yes even so-called “safe and sane”

As fireworks stands open outside of the Everett City limits this week, many things that boom and burn will make their way into the city. Heck they may even make it into your neighbor’s back yard.

Yes, fireworks are illegal in Everett but usually not an emergency so please don’t call 9-1-1. If you want to call about illegal fireworks, call 425-407-3999. This non-emergency line will be answered at SNOPAC, by the same people who answer the 9-1-1 calls.

The intent is to take pressure off the 9-1-1 system. When you call 425-407-3999 you may be placed on hold or you may be placed in a queue. You may hear a recorded message with information about alternative numbers or resources you may use instead of waiting for a dispatcher.

Neighbors shooting off guns, call 9-1-1. Neighbors shooting off firecrackers, call 425-407-3999.

People waving sparklers, call 425-407-3999. People using a garden hose to put out a roof on fire, call 9-1-1.

From now through the 4th of July Everett Police and Firefighters will be on extra watch for fireworks use. You may not believe it but yes they do confiscate fireworks and write tickets. They also give warnings. This includes fireworks traditionally referred to as “Safe and Sane.” Possession and discharge of fireworks in the city was made unlawful in 1997 due to the large number of illegal fireworks and explosive devices brought into the city and the resulting injuries, fires, and community complaints.

While do it yourself fireworks are illegal in Everett, there is a public display on the waterfront at 10:10 PM. You can find our more about that here.
