Crash Ties Up 112th, Bank Robbery Contributes To Commute Woes

April 21, 2016

Everett, Police Blotter

A crash on 112th street SE, followed by a bank robbery 30 minutes later made for a lousy commute around Silver Lake Thursday afternoon…

First the crash. A US Postal Service truck got tangled up with a Cadillac Escalade in the westbound lanes of 112th street just west of the I-5 overpass. There were no major injuries but traffic on 112th was backed up for blocks in both directions. Here are some MyEverettNews.com photos of the crash.

About 30 minutes later the Key Bank at 110th and 19th Avenue SE (in the corner of the Safeway parking lot) was robbed. Everett Police and a K-9 from the Lynnwood Police Department searched for the suspect who was seen running east on 110th from the bank. They were unable to locate the robber but may have recovered some evidence nearby. The FBI arrived as these MyEverettNews.com photos were being taken.

Between the accident on 112th and the police response and search for the bank robbery suspect traffic was an absolute mess near 112th and 19th SE.
