Editor’s Update Monday Nov. 30th 4:00PM: The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has just provided this update on Sunday’s shooting…

It has been confirmed that the 15 year-old male suspect (not 16 year-old, as previously reported) is the brother of the 11 year-old shooting victim. The suspect told detectives that he bought the gun from an acquaintance a few months after he was shot last August. A .38 caliber revolver was recovered from the scene. Whether the suspect’s parents knew that he was in possession of the weapon or not is still under investigation.

Editor’s Update 5:50 PM: The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has released the following new information about today’s shooting. – A 16 year old male is being arrested after a shooting incident in the Everett area of unincorporated Snohomish County today. The male is an relative of the 11 year old victim. The incident occurred in the 12400 block of Admiralty Way about 12:30 PM.

The juvenile will be booked at Denny Youth Center for investigation of Reckless Endangerment and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Snohomish County Sheriff Major Crimes detectives are continuing their investigation. No additional information is available at this time.

Shooting likely an accident.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the details around an incident with a boy shot at an apartment complex behind Home Depot south of Everett Sunday morning. Here’s a press release just issued by SCSO…

A young boy was critically injured in a shooting incident in the Everett area of unincorporated Snohomish County today.

Around 12:30 p.m., Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of an 11 year old male who had been shot. Deputies arrived and initially had information that an unknown suspect had shot the boy and fled.
A K-9 track and further investigation revealed the boy had possibly been shot accidentally by an older sibling. The case is being investigated by Major Crimes detectives who will determine the facts surrounding the incident.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. There is not believed to be any additional danger to the public at this time.
