A firefighter continues to pour water into the upper level.

One person was taken to the hospital for observation following a house fire in the 9600 block of 18th Avenue West tonight in southwest Everett.

Smoke and flames were seen coming from the house as firefighters arrived.

Voids in the ceiling space made it difficult for firefighters to get to all of the flames and several holes had to be cut to finally get the fire out.

An Everett Fire investigator is on scene. No damage estimate yet and no word on what started the fire.
