In addition to the construction jobs that have been pumping money into Everett there is another upside.
Not only will the new dealership employ up to 65 people when fully staffed but the City of Everett will be collecting B&O and sales taxes on hundreds of sales each month.
MyEverettNews.com first told you about activity at the Everett Chevrolet lot in the 7300 block of Evergreen Way back in September of 2013. At that time demolition work began to take down the old buildings.
Last September we told you that the Harnish Family out of Puyallup had pulled construction permits and now we can tell you that the new Chevrolet of Everett looks to be open in mid to late December.
Today MyEverettNews.com spoke with General Manager Cline Davis. He’s also an equity partner in the dealership with the Harnish family and is in the process of looking for a house to buy in Everett and moving here with his wife.
“I lived in Everett when I was 7 years old,” said Davis. “I still have long-time friends here.”
We asked Davis about what will make this dealership different than what people in Everett are used to and he immediately listed several items including…
Room for 475 new and used vehicles including a two-story parking facility.
An enclosed service drive area.
A doggie park and exercise area.
Bright colors and accents throughout the building with two waiting areas each with its own espresso stand.
A way of taking care of people that makes them feel more like house guests than vehicle buyers.
“The Harnish way is special,” Davis said. “Both in how we take care of our customers as well as our employees.”
Right now most of the management positions have been filled but the dealership is hiring sales, service and office employees. You can contact them through a link on their website.
“With the way the Everett area is growing, Chevrolet thinks this will become their largest market in Washington State,” said Davis. “I’m looking forward to making this dealership number one.”
