Quick work by Everett Firefighters kept an oil fire at a textile plant in southwest Everett from causing any major damage.

Shortly after 8:00PM Saturday night Everett Firefighters were called to the Achilles Manufacturing Plant in the 1400 block of 80th Street SW to a report of a fire. Arriving fire crews saw light smoke coming from the building on their arrival.

Oil was on fire underneath one of the machines in the building. Firefighters were able to attack it with foam and quickly put it out.

Employees were evacuated from the building for a time but there were no injuries and crews were able to return to service after a short time
