Saturday Morning RV Fire in South Everett Could Be Seen For Miles

No, Mattress City was not having a start of summer fire sale. There was however a massive column of smoke rising behind the store after an RV caught fire in a parking lot next to the business at 121 SE Everett Mall Way. The fire was reported shortly before 10:00am and the smoke could be seen from I-5 to the north and 112th street to the south. The crew from Everett Fire Engine Company 6 fought the fire and were met with some challenges from motorists who were so busy looking at the smoke column they were getting in the way of laying fire hose. A good reminder to not drive too close to the area if you see a fire as engines need a lot of room to operate. There were no injuries and no word on what started the fire.
