A strange and scary morning for workers at the Sheriff’s Office records unit at the Snohomish County Courthouse. Shortly before 9:00am a man apparently broke out one of the glass doors at the main entrance to the Snohomish County Courthouse on Wall street in downtown Everett. He made his way into the Sheriff’s Office on the 4th floor and threatened workers with a knife. The workers took shelter and called 9-1-1. Officers from Everett Police, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol and Lynnwood Police searched all five floors of the courthouse and basement. It was determined the suspect left the courthouse and as officers were clearing they received multiple reports of a man threatening people near the downtown Everett Library and the Post Office. Around 11:00am 9-1-1 received a call that the suspect was seen at 38th and Hoyt. Everett Police responded and took the man into custody. They also recovered a large knife. The man was turned over to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies. The Sheriff’s Office says the man is a 25-year-old from Everett. Here are some photos of the scene at the courthouse and of the suspect’s capture. Click photos to enlarge. Copyright MyEverettNews.com
