A worker suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in a construction accident in south Everett late this morning. According to Assistant Everett Fire Marshal Eric Hicks, a man was working on the main level of a unit under construction when a portion of the upper floor collapsed upon him. Firefighters from Everett and Medics from District 1 tended to the man and transported him to the hospital. Inspectors from the Everett building department were called out and investigators from the State Department of Labor and Industries were expected to arrive later this afternoon to determine what happened and if construction to the unit can continue. The apartments are just south of the Costco store in the 10700 block of 16th SE.
