Miss Representation

The event is free but you will need to get advance tickets.

North Middle School PTA is inviting the public to see a documentary on female exploitation in media. Here’s more information from the Facebook event page created by Everett Public Schools…

Please join North Middle School PTA for a free film screening and panel discussion of the documentary film Miss Representation. Miss Representation provides an inside look at how media misrepresentation of women has led to under representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. This event aims to spread community awareness of this important issue in order to help advocate social change to break the cycle of female exploitation in media.

Their hope is to encourage students to develop the critical-thinking skills they need to navigate through the mixed messages they encounter on TV, the radio, in movies, and through online and social media. This is also a great opportunity for parents to see the effects popular culture is having on both our girls AND boys.

**Parents are encouraged to attend with their student. Students without an adult must be in 8th grade or higher and provide a school ASB card. This film is rated PG-13.

Tickets are free but must be obtained in advance. You can get your tickets here.
