Quick work by Everett firefighters stopped the spread of a fire this afternoon in north Everett. Crews were called to reports that an oven fire had extended into the wall and threatened to climb to the attic at an apartment in the 1300 block of Fir street. The arriving engine knocked down the smoke and hot spots and kept them from spreading. Firefighters did remove the entire stove from the apartment and also a fair amount of blackened wall material and insulation. There were no injuries. No word yet on a damage estimate. Here are a few pictures taken at the scene by MyEverettNews.com.
