There’s a new chocolate shop now open in downtown Everett. Two weeks ago, on Valentine’s Day, Angie Carozzo opened Oh Sweet! Chocolate. It’s in the 2900 block of Hoyt right across from Schack Art Center. MyEverettNews.com had a chance to speak with Angie as she was in the midst of making salted caramels and waiting on customers. We first asked why she chose Everett? “I was picking up my logo which had been designed by one of the artists living in the Artspace Everett Lofts (above the Schack Arts Center) when I looked across the street and saw the space for rent,” said Carozzo. “It looked perfectly perfect for a chocolate shop.”
Angie went on to explain that years ago she worked on Capitol Hill in Seattle and could feel a positive change in that neighborhood. She says she got the same feeling walking around Everett, that things in Everett are changing and she really felt it was going to be a great place. “The people in Everett have been amazing and so supportive,” said Carozzo.

She hand-makes the chocolates, a process she says she fell in love with at culinary school, calling it the perfect blend of culinary, science and chemistry. She offers chocolates, salted caramels, truffles as well as espresso featuring coffee from Bargreen’s in Everett. She says she tries to source her ingredients locally whenever possible.

The south wall of her store also features artwork on display (and for sale) with the exhibition changing monthly. The shop is open 9am – 7pm Tuesday – Sunday. You can also found out more about Oh Sweet! Chocolate from their shop’s Facebook page.
