Who killed Jeffrey J. Wehl?

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the male shot inside an apartment at the Candlewood Apartments (1022 W. Casino Rd) on the 21st who died from his injuries on the 23rd as 57 year-old Jeffrey J. Wehl of Everett. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

While the victim was being transported to the hospital, he implied a male and female were involved in the incident. Additionally, witnesses described two individuals leaving the victims residence around the time of the shooting and indicate they left the apartment complex in a white 4-door car. Detectives are looking to identify and contact the male and female to determine if they have any information about the shooting.


The male is of unknown race, around 25 years-old, 5’10” – 5’11” tall, 160 – 170lbs. He wore a red baseball cap with a black rim and a red and black jacket.


The female is described as white, mid-twenties, around 5’05” tall, 110lbs with long hair.


Detectives have learned that the victim posted ads seeking female roommates and found his profile on several dating websites. It is possible these played a part in the incident.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the identification and examination of a 57-year old male who was found in his residence in the 1000 block of West Casino Road on January 23, 2015. The decedent is Jeffrey J. Wehl. The cause of death is gunshot wound of the head. The manner of death is Homicide.
