Auto Theft Task Force Raids Everett Home and Shop
This house on 75th street has been the scene of police activity several times over the past few years.
In an operation managed by the Washington State Patrol with assistance from Everett Police and the Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force, officers this morning swarmed over a home in the 2400 block of 75th street SE near the Valley View neighborhood east of Broadway. They were there to investigate an illegal wrecking yard, commonly referred to as a chop shop. Detectives found cars in various states of being dismantled, State Highway signs, motorcycles and all kinds of property ranging from tires to vacuum cleaners to an emergency vehicle light bar. They arrested one woman on a Department of Corrections warrant and suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and detained at least one man at the property. Detective Terry Haldeman with the Sno-Cat Task Force told MyEverettNews.com that detectives will be there most of the day looking for evidence of stolen vehicles and use of the property as an illegal wrecking yard and that the City of Everett may wind up looking at the property for code violations. A member of the city’s code compliance office was at the property observing the conditions. Haldeman also said that just this year the task force has arrested 96 people for auto theft.
