Rescuers were able to get the people in the river to Dagmar’s

Winds caused grief for two boaters on the Snohomish River Friday night. Two docks broke loose and sent people into the river. According to Everett Fire one person was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center. Here is a bit more from Shari Ireton at SCSO…

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit is assisting Everett’s Marine Unit in a water operation involving two docks, four boats, and two people on the Snohomish River. Everett has rescued the persons on board two of the boats near Dagmar’s Marina and operations are underway to secure the vessels and docks.

The incident began around 6 p.m. when a person on one of the boats, a 33 ft pleasure boat, reported that the dock it was moored to on the Snohomish River in Everett came loose from its mooring, along with three other boats and another dock. The Sheriff’s Office deployed the Marine Unit and the Swift Water Rescue Team to assist, and requested additional assistance from the US Coast Guard.
