Veteran’s Day USO Dance At Everett Senior Center Back For 9th Year

Spots are going quickly for the annual Veteran’s Day Dance at the Carl Gipson Senior Center in downtown Everett. Here’s a video from the City of Everett’s YouTube channel on last year’s dance and below that everything you need to know about this year’s event thanks to Meghan Pembroke at the City of Everett…

Join veterans from all wars as they dance the afternoon away at the 9th annual USO dance at the Carl Gipson Senior Center on Nov. 11, from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free for all, but a ticket is required for entrance, and all attendees must be over 50.

Eric Wollan, the center’s activities coordinator, says the unique event offers an opportunity for the entire community to honor to the veterans who risked their lives for the United States.

“There are no better people to celebrate than the people who have given so much to protect us and so many others,” Wollan said.

The event will feature music from Route 66, a 16-piece swing band, along with eye-catching displays from the 1940s, and the Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) will present the color guard. Participants have a chance to refuel with a complimentary lunch, and then get back to dancing for the remainder of the afternoon.

Wollan encourages attendees to reserve their tickets soon, as the event fills up quickly.

“We can only offer 400 tickets because of space constraints,” Wollan said. “More than half of the tickets are already reserved, so get a place while you still can!”

To reserve a spot, call (425) 257-8780, or stop by the senior center. Tickets must be picked up prior to the event.
