Pink The Rink

Pink the Rink returns Saturday night as the Everett Silvertips take on the Seattle Thunderbirds.

It’s become an annual tradition as the Everett Silvertips team up with community partners to raise funds for the battle against breast cancer. Here’s everything you need to know…

The Everett Silvertips and our partners at Providence Regional Medical Center and the Safeway Foundation are proud to present “Pink the Rink” 2014, our sixth-annual breast cancer fundraiser, on Saturday, October 25 vs. the Seattle Thunderbirds.  After raising over $315,000 in donations toward the local fight against breast cancer over the past five years, our goal is to top $100,000 in new donations during this year’s event.

Pink the Rink is a cooperative effort between the Silvertips, Providence Regional Cancer Partnership, Providence Comprehensive Breast Center and the Safeway Foundation to raise donations that fund free and low-cost breast cancer screenings for local women without insurance or the means to pay.  By aiding with early detection, money raised from Pink the rink will ultimately help save lives in Snohomish County and the surrounding areas.

The game against the Thunderbirds on Saturday, October 25 will feature a variety of ways to contribute to the cause while also celebrating breast cancer survivors and remembering those lost to the disease.  We’re encouraging Silvertips fans to get in the spirit by dressing in pink for the game to show your support for the fight against breast cancer.  The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a light-up pink glow stick courtesy of the Safeway Foundation and Providence Comprehensive Breast Center.

When you Click Here to buy tickets to the game through our special link, at least $5 off every ticket purchased will be donated to the cause.  We’re already accepting online bids for our Pink the Rink jersey auction (Click Here to bid) featuring the pink-highlighted specialty jerseys the ‘Tips are wearing for October home games through Saturday.  Online bidding continues until noon Saturday, while in-person bids will be accepted at all three home games this week.  Bidding ends at the start of the third period of Saturday’s game.

100% of the proceeds from the pink jersey auction, as well as sales of Pink the Rink t-shirts and pucks, go to the Providence General Foundation to support the cause.  Pink the Rink t-shirts are once again available in pink (with glow-in-the-dark paint) or grey for $12 each – only $10 for Silvertips season ticket holders.  Pink pucks autographed by your favorite Silvertips player are available for $20 each, while unsigned pucks are on sale for $10 each.  T-shirts and pucks are available at the team office throughout the week and on the concourse on game nights.
