A look at the front of the GMC Envoy.

A man was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by an SUV while crossing Evergreen Way shortly before 10:00 pm Saturday night. According to Everett Police, a GMC Envoy was travelling southbound in the 10100 block of Evergreen Way when it struck a man crossing in the middle of the street from east to west roughly in front of the Motel 6. The man struck the windshield of the SUV and collapsed onto the roadway. The driver of the Envoy is cooperating with police and they say they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role on the part of the driver. No word on whether the pedestrian was impaired but he was not in a crosswalk. Southbound Evergreen Way was closed for about an hour and a half for the investigation.
