Luckily there didn’t appear to be any injuries but a man was arrested Sunday afternoon after nearly hitting an Everett Police car head on at the north end of Silver Lake in south Everett. An Everett Police officer was transporting a burglary suspect to jail when when he announced on the radio that he’d been hit by another car. An Everett Police Sergeant investigating the scene tells MyEverettNews.com that the patrol car was going west on 19th Avenue SE when a car going eastbound drove across the center line forcing the Everett Police car to take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision. The eastbound car struck the Everett cruiser in the left rear. While neither the officer or the driver of the car that crashed into him were hurt, firefighters did check over the prisoner who was in the back of the police car. She was taken to an Everett hospital as a precaution. The driver of the eastbound car was taken into custody and investigators are trying to determine if intoxication played a role in the crash. The driver’s car was impounded. 19th Avenue SE remained open during the investigation.
