Everett Silvertips street hockey

The tournament will be held Saturday at Clark Park.

It’s been gone for 2 years but this Saturday street hockey returns to downtown Everett. Here are all the details courtesy of the Everett Silvertips…

The Silvertips Street Hockey Tournament returns to downtown Everett after a two-year hiatus this Saturday!
Join us at Clark Park (located 1/2 mile north of Comcast Arena at 2400 Lombard Avenue) starting at 10:00 am for a great day of ball hockey, music, food and lots of fun for kids and adults alike!

Whether you’re a player, parent or a fan coming to watch, Clark Park will have plenty of activity during the Silvertips Street Hockey Tournament.  Games are taking place on Clark Park’s enclosed tennis courts, making for convenient spectator viewing as multiple games occur simultaneously throughout the day.  Some bleacher seating is available outside the courts, but spectators are also welcome to bring along portable folding chairs.

Food will be available for purchase on-site at the park, including hamburgers, hot dogs and other picnic food & drinks through the Everett Youth Hockey Booster Club’s “Kickoff Cookout”, which helps raise money to support youth hockey players and their families.  An ice cream vendor will also be on hand to help you cool off during a warm summer day, plus we’ll have special discounted items on sale from the Silvertips Team Store (cash only please) and music will be playing throughout the day!

Registration opens at 9:00 am and the first games start at 10:00 am.  Teams MUST be registered at least 30 minutes prior to their first game, with ALL participants required to submit a waiver prior to competing.  (Please note that the 10U and Adult Recreation divisions do not begin play until the afternoon.)  Games will start promptly to help keep the tournament on-schedule, so please have your team ready at the appointed game time!  The last game of the day is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm.

The tournament is organized into three youth divisions (14U, 12U and 10U) and two adult divisions (competitive and recreational).  Each team is guaranteed at least three round-robin games, with those results being used to seed teams in a single-elimination playoff.  Playoff brackets vary by division, so be sure to look for your division’s bracket and track the standings to find out if your team has qualified for the playoffs.

One referee and an official scorekeeper will monitor each game.  Players should bring both dark and white t-shirts to help distinguish between teams that may wear similar colors.  Helmets and eye protection are required for all youth division players and recommended for adult players.  Goalie equipment must be approved before your first game.  Other protective gear, such as gloves, shin guards, mouth guards, etc. is recommended but not required.

Team captains should submit a final team roster to the Silvertips by Thursday at 5:00 pm.  Games will continue rain or shine (except in the case of extreme weather conditions).
